Meet the experts behind your trusted support system.
Emily Riemer
Emily is a mom of three, a NICU nurse with 14 years of experience, and founder of Motherhood with Emily. She supports mothers who are used to achieving, planning and holding everything together, but find that postpartum recovery does not always follow the plan. With training in postpartum athleticism, corrective exercise, perinatal nutrition and holistic child sleep, Emily offers practical, individualised support from birth through to five years postpartum. Her work helps women move away from pressure to “bounce back” and towards feeling strong, nourished, rested and at home in their bodies again. Emily believes you are not failing if recovery takes longer than expected or motherhood looks different to the picture you had in your head. “You’re going to get a lot of advice,” she says. “Take the stuff you like, leave the stuff you don’t, and make your own way out of it all.”
Janaya Letkeman
Janaya believes that preparing for birth is about more than making a birth plan, it’s about building knowledge, confidence, flexibility, and trust in yourself and your care team. She is passionate about helping families understand their options, think through what matters most to them, and feel supported in making decisions that are right for them.
Her approach to care is warm, evidence-informed, and deeply personal. She values creating environments tailored to each family’s needs, whether that means engaging and fun or calm and grounding. She has a particular interest in physiologic birth and has developed expertise in External Cephalic Version (turning babies who are not yet head-down). Her experience includes supporting families through both straightforward and more complex birth experiences.
Janaya is excited to spend time with expectant parents and share practical tools, perspectives, and encouragement for preparing for their own birth experience, and for the many adventures that follow.
Amanda Ho
Amanda is a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over 13 years of experience supporting babies and families. Much of her nursing career has been spent in the Neonatal ICU, caring for premature and medically complex babies, helping families through those early, often overwhelming days. She is also the founder of Flowerbud Lactation, where she supports families with breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and other infant feeding concerns.
Amanda is also completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology, with a special interest in supporting parents through the emotional side of pregnancy, postpartum, and feeding. Her style is warm, practical, and judgment-free, with lots of room for questions and real-life concerns. She loves helping parents understand what to expect, what’s normal, and when a little extra support may be helpful. Her goal is for families to leave feeling informed, reassured, and supported as they prepare to welcome their baby.
Dr. Simone Pirita, ND
Simone is a Naturopathic Doctor and birth doula with a special focus on women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care. She loves supporting women through all the changes that come with pregnancy and helping them feel informed, confident, and supported as they prepare for birth and life with a new baby.As a doula, Simone has seen firsthand how important it is to have the right people around you during this season of life. She’s a big believer that pregnancy and early motherhood were never meant to be navigated alone, and that having a community to learn from, lean on, and share the experience with can make all the difference. At Gather Baby Club, Simone will bring her experience as both an ND and birth doula to the group, while creating space for honest conversations, lots of questions, and the kind of connection that makes this whole journey feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more fun.
Cierra File-Murby
Cierra is a pelvic floor physiotherapist who specializes in pelvic health with a particular focus on supporting individuals through pregnancy and postpartum.
Her approach is centred around helping people feel confident and comfortable in their changing bodies. During pregnancy, she focuses on safe and effective movement, minimizing pain and discomfort, and optimizing pelvic floor function to help prepare the body for birth and recovery.
Postpartum, Cierra supports individuals in addressing pelvic floor dysfunction, rebuilding strength and confidence, and safely returning to the activities and goals that matter most to them. She believes that pelvic health care should be empowering, practical, and individualized to each person's needs and stage of life.
She looks forward to helping people better understand their bodies, feel prepared for the physical changes of pregnancy, and build a strong foundation for postpartum recovery.
Nina Lamotchkina
Hi, I’m Nina, a birth doula and naturopathic medical graduate. My work is rooted in the core belief that our bodies know very well what they need to do; all they need is a little bit of guidance. I want the people I work with to feel informed, capable, and supported as they prepare for birth and navigate the early postpartum period.
In general, my clinical interests include perinatal care, mental health, and chronic conditions. My training in naturopathic medicine has given me a strong foundation in physiology and whole-person care, which I love bringing into birth education in a way that feels practical and approachable. I’m passionate about helping people understand the “why” behind what is happening in their bodies, so they can advocate for themselves and make the best decisions for their birthing process.
As a birth doula, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through fertility journeys, labour, and postpartum recovery, as well as the many physical and emotional changes that come with these transitions. My approach is curious, collaborative, and grounded in the idea that there is no single right way to experience birth or become a parent.
I’m currently completing the final steps toward becoming a licensed naturopathic doctor, but as I do so I am excited to continue combining my clinical training and experience as a birth doula to support parents through this huge, strange, beautiful transition.
